"Being dissatisfied with my previous State Farm agency, and encouraged by the surprisingly high number of positive reviews, I decided to switch to this agency.
Given that my case should have been straightforward, I believe my expectation for a streamlined and timely process was reasonable. Typically, it should take one day to receive a quote and no more than ten days to finalize the paperwork, provided that you agree with the figures presented.
Unfortunately, my experience has been utterly chaotic and a major waste of time. I first reached out more than a month ago, and after all this time, I still received paperwork with the wrong premium. I do not think I have ever spent this much time dealing with an insurance matter before. The entire process has been truly bizarre."
"Thank you for sharing your experience, and I’m very sorry the process took longer than expected and that you received paperwork with the wrong premium. We understand how frustrating that is, especially when you were switching agencies expecting a smooth transition.
To explain what happened: when you called, your homeowners policy was still with another agency. You requested that we make changes to lower the premium, but because the policy wasn’t yet in our system, we couldn’t apply those changes at that time and that we'd have to wait until State Farm corporate assigned the policy to our agency (3-5 business days). Once it arrived here, I would be able to make the requested changes. We checked daily to confirm when the policy was with our office. As soon as it was, we ran the numbers, prepared the updated quote, you agreed to the updated pricing, and I immediately submitted the changes to corporate.
Because the transfer and corporate processing took time, and your renewal was set for June 25, the bill you received did not yet reflect the updated figures. As I mentioned on the phone last week, it is still processing, and once the changes are completed you will receive a refund check by mail.
I truly wish this could have moved faster for you. Unfortunately, the local office can’t control how quickly corporate updates the transferred policy and billing. I did everything I could, including checking daily, to get this resolved as quickly as possible.
